Time passes and drips away like wax from a candle.
A couple celebrating their wedding anniversary just can’t believe how time has faded from their fingertips.
Years pass by so rapidly
The kids grow up, move out and get married
Body aches start
Gravity shows who is the boss
Wrinkles set in
Grand kids come and go
With the toast of another year the couple smile and kiss ever so passionately; as the first time they ever kissed like two mischievous teenagers.
Like a fast forward button on time, the couple reminisces of what they have gone through, and smile
Never forgetting each passed year
One by one they pass by with each lesson, each triumph and stumbling block and rejoice that God got them through it all
The husband lifts his glass to make a toast with that dreamy glassy look of love in his eyes with drippy tears streaming down his face. Can’t believe his eyes that his wife has stayed with him all this time
For he feels that she is too good for him and wonders why she has stayed with him all this time.
Instead of questioning her, he wipes his wet eyes almost choking to say the next toast.
He gathers his composure because is manly pride s at stake to make the following toast: “This is to the Lord Jesus who kept us together all this time, and now I know why YOU were meant to be my wife…. I am a difficult husband and only you could fill the job.”
The wife gets up with her ageless face but wise humor and says: “I picked you to be my husband, only you can love me the way I need to be and you continue to do that even in our old age. I am so glad that we got through all we did, and are ever blessed, my love.”

Yes, hun I am ever so blessed because of your love. Yes I chose you to be my husband and yes, it has been difficult at times, but I am not leaving any time soon. I am here for the long haul.
