Arizona Cardinals 2010 NFL Draft Picks
Arizona Cardinals
Needs Analysis: The Cardinals were unable to land a franchise left tackle, but they finally got their nose tackle by grabbing Dan Williams with the 26th selection. Second-round pick Daryl Washington gives them a weakside inside linebacker that should start from Day 1. The dark horse in the draft may be outside linebacker, O'Brien Schofield, who was injured at the Senior Bowl but has a chance to replace some of the pass rush left behind by Chike Okeafor and Bertrand Berry. Schofield had 17 sacks in college.

Round 1, Pick 26 (26) Dan Williams DT 6'2" 327 Tennessee 8.5 17
Video
Pick Analysis: The Cardinals add a key piece to their defense by nabbing Dan Williams. The hulking interior defender has the size and strength to thrive as a nose tackle, and his ability to occupy multiple blockers should free the team's linebackers to roam freely inside. Although linebacker remains a pressing need, the decision to fortify the front line should result in better play from the linebacker corps in 2010.
Round 2, Pick 15 (47) (From Titans through Patriots) Daryl Washington LB 6'2" 230 TCU 8.1 --
Video
Pick Analysis: The Cardinals move up to draft one of the fastest linebackers in the draft. Daryl Washington will step in immediately as Karlos Dansby's replacement inside, and give the Cardinals' linebacker corps more speed and athleticism. The Cardinals needed to find a starting linebacker early in the draft, and Washington has the skills to be a key contributor as a rookie.
Round 3, Pick 24 (88) (From Ravens) Andre Roberts WR 5'11" 195 Citadel 6.9 --
Video
Pick Analysis: The Cardinals pick up an underrated small school standout to fill the void created by the departure of Anquan Boldin. Andre Roberts posted big numbers in the Southern Conference, and his skills translate well to the pro game. A polished route runner with good hands, he could develop into a quality slot receiver in time.
Round 4, Pick 32 (130) (From Saints) O'Brien Schofield DE 6'2" 221 Wisconsin 5.5 --
Pick Analysis: The Cardinals take a chance on O'Brien Schofield from Wisconsin. The former Badger suffered a knee injury during the Senior Bowl, and his recovery will likely keep him out of action until training camp. However, if he fully recovers, he could give the Cardinals a versatile linebacker to add to their 3-4.
Round 5, Pick 24 (155) (From Eagles through Jets and Steelers) John Skelton QB 6'5" 243 Fordham 6.8 --
Video
Pick Analysis: The Cardinals aggressively trade up to nab an intriguing quarterback prospect in John Skelton. The big-armed thrower from Fordham has a good skill set, and is ideally suited to play in the Cardinals' wide-open offense. He will be an interesting player to watch develop behind Matt Leinart and Co. in Arizona.
Round 6, Pick 32 (201) (From Saints) Jorrick Calvin DB 5'11" 184 Troy -- --
Pick Analysis: The Cardinals bring in another athletic defender to compete for time as a backup corner. Jorrick Calvin has solid overall skills, and will fight for a roster spot as a sub-defender/special teams player
Round 7, Pick 26 (233) Jim Dray TE 6'5" 246 Stanford 2.0 --
Pick Analysis: The latest tight end in a long line of them taken Saturday is Stanford's Jim Dray. He has solid overall skills, and provides depth for a Cardinals team that has long looked to establish some continuity at the tight end position.
