OK, Denard Robinson's durability is officially an issue

Fortunately for Michigan and gridiron aesthetes everywhere, human highlight reel Denard Robinson stayed in today's game long enough to do this:
That was Robinson's second touchdown run in as many drives. At that point, he'd taken 14 snaps, ripped off 82 yards on four carries, hit four straight passes and had the Wolverines up 14-0 on outmanned Bowling Green barely five minutes in. After snap No. 15, he was writhing on the ground at the end of another 47-yard sprint down the Wolverine sideline, and spent the rest of the first half on headset duty.Backup Tate Forcier's presence in the shotgun to start the third quarter effectively means Robinson's afternoon is done, which isn't exactly a panic situation: At 37-14, the game is well in hand – Bowling Green hasn't slowed the Wolverines with Foricer or true freshman Devin Gardner at the controls, either – and Robinson seemed poised to return to the game if he really had a mind or reason to. He emerged for the second half in full uniform, smiling as he warmed up alongside Forcier, with his left leg heavily taped below the knee. I'm not that kind of doctor, but all signs are he'll be back at his usual lightspeed for next week's Big Ten opener at Indiana.
But the nibbling doubtlets about Robinson's durability over a full Big Ten schedule must qualify as full-blown concerns. This is a 190-pounder who's carrying the ball 25 times per game (29 times when it was crunch time at Notre Dame) and throwing it 25 more. He was shaken up just enough on runs against UConn and Notre Dame to leave the game for one play in each. Whatever the severity of the injury today, the sight of 80 percent of the team's total offense standing on the sideline had to bring a collective lump to the home crowd's throat, especially as they watched their defense shredded yet again by an inferior attack after the first quarter.
As of right now, assuming there's no more damage there than meets the eye, that's still a pretty nebulous fear. But after today – and especially after last year's slow collapse off a similar 4-0 September – it's going to be as real for the multitudes holding their breath that he keeps getting up for the rest of the season as it already is for the ones holding their breath that he doesn't reduce their defense to a pile of ashes.
[Update, 3:36 p.m. ET] Your final, for the record: Michigan 65, Bowling Green 21. If Robinson had to go back in, "he could've," according to coach Rich Rodriguez, and he's ought to be just fine for next week.
